Why Mauritius
No Points. No Quotas.
Mauritius offers one of the most elegant residency-by-investment programmes in the world. There are no points systems, no language tests, no arbitrary caps, and no minimum stay requirements. A qualifying property purchase is all it takes to secure permanent residence for you and your family. For those not purchasing property, the Occupation Permit, Retirement Permit, and Premium Visa offer practical pathways suited to professionals, retirees, and remote workers respectively.

Residence Pathways
Four Routes to Island Life
Each permit is designed for a distinct profile — from real estate investors seeking permanent residency to professionals, retirees, and remote workers looking to spend extended time on the island.
Via Property
Permanent Residence Permit
USD 375,000+ qualifying investment
The most popular route for foreign nationals. A qualifying real estate purchase — under PDS, G+2, or Smart City — automatically grants a Permanent Residence Permit to the investor and their immediate family.
Employment & Investment
Occupation Permit
Investor: USD 50,000 capital · Professional: employed
A combined work and residence permit for investors, professionals, and self-employed individuals wishing to operate or work in Mauritius. Valid for up to 10 years (renewable) with a streamlined application via the Economic Development Board.
Age 50+
Retirement Permit
USD 1,500/month transferred into Mauritius
Mauritius' dedicated permit for retirees aged 50 and above. Subject to transferring at least USD 1,500 per month (or equivalent lump sum) into a local bank account, with no employment restrictions.
Remote & Short-Stay
Premium Visa
USD 1,500/year administrative fee
Designed for remote workers, retirees, and self-employed individuals wishing to reside in Mauritius for up to 12 months. Renewable annually with no minimum income threshold beyond the administrative fee.
Step by Step
The PRP Process, Explained
01
Choose Your Investment
Select a qualifying property under the PDS, G+2, or Smart City scheme. Our real estate team can guide you to off-market options tailored to your budget and lifestyle.
02
Sign a Sales Agreement
A notarial Deed of Sale is prepared and signed before a Mauritian notary. This triggers the permit application process with the Economic Development Board (EDB).
03
EDB Application
Your legal representative submits the PRP application to the EDB. Required documents include proof of investment, passport copies, police clearance, and medical certificate.
04
Permit Issued
On approval, a Permanent Residence Permit is issued within 3–6 weeks. The permit covers the investor and qualifying dependants — no quota, no points system.
05
Settle & Thrive
Open a local bank account, enrol children in school, and access the island's world-class healthcare. Your concierge team handles the practical details.
06
Path to Citizenship
After 5 years of uninterrupted legal residence, apply for Mauritian citizenship — unlocking a second passport, full voting rights, and unrestricted property ownership.
